paddle board yoga

Root SUP was founded and created by Emma Grace and Amy. Their friendship was founded on their love for SUP and the first time they met was in one of Emma's SUP Yoga classes.

Amy Buno, founder and instructor

Amy bought her first paddle board immediately after trying one for the first time. She knew that this act of balancing on the water was for her. After moving to back to Michigan from Colorado, her love for SUP grew. Amy has been practicing yoga since 2002, so yoga on the board seemed like a natural fit to her. She obtained her  RYT 200 in 2017 with SUP Yoga as her number one passion. She became the first graduate of the Root SUP YTT and is excited share her love of paddle board yoga with you.

Emma Grace, founder and instructor

As soon as Emma first stepped on a paddle board she knew she was meant to do yoga on it. It took her a few years to become more passionate and buy her own boards, but soon she was practicing yoga on the water and racing every chance she got. She completed a SUP YTT in Chicago in June 2015 and has been teaching SUP Yoga in Ann Arbor since 2015, with Red Star Paddle Company. In 2016 she started teaching on Beaver Island with Happy Paddle, as well. She became an RYT 200 in 2014 and has been practicing yoga since 2006.
